"Quality of Life"

Most of the time when I post Drabbles, they're really plotbunnies in disguise, and eventually, when I can write something other than Choosing Family without feeling guilty, I will flush them out into full stories. Other times, ideas become Drabbles that I know I will never expand upon.

This is one of the latter.  A friend and I were trying to remember what the first thing Remus said to Harry was, and chocolate jokes ensued. Then this happened.

"Quality of Life"

"Remus!" Hermione, flushed with excitement, burst into the room, and Severus, slightly less dour than usual, followed at a moderate pace. "We did it! We have a cure for lycanthropy!"

He sat, stunned, knowing it couldn't be a prank – not from these two, not about this.

"It's brilliant, " she gasped, breathless from running, "almost painless... and there's only one long-term side effect worth mentioning."

Hope blossomed, and – still unable to form words – he waited to hear the price of his freedom.

"You'll never be able to eat chocolate again."

Nothing for it, then. "Severus, you'll still make my wolfsbane, right?"
