Tortured Severus at the end there was great (in a very painful sort of way - it was quite gut-wrenching, really) - made him seem very human, showing just how deeply he cares for Draco (and, dare I say, showing that there's hope for his relationship with Harry if he can bear to do such a thing in front of him - towards him, no less). It's so striking because Severus is so not a begger under anything but ultra extraordinary circumstances. Especially when he's been so annoyed with Harry acting like a twit . . . It was a beautiful moment of interaction, anyway, with Harry leaping all over his words to try to get his acceptance out there fast enough that Severus doesn't have to say anything else (once again, hope for their future relationship).
